Hereditary spastic paraplegia (MR).









PROTOCOL:

T1W – Sagittal & axial scans
T2W – Axial & coronal scans
FLAIR – Axial scans 

FINDINGS:

-Revealed:
Peri ventricular white matter; centrum semi ovale and corona radiata altered signal bilaterally.
Thin corpus callosum (small; hypoplastic and atrophied).
Abnormal hyper intense signal in posterior limb of internal capsule.
Brain atrophy with dilated cortical sulci and ventricular system.
Atrophied brain stem and cerebellum.
Atrophied cervical cord with vague posterior cord hyper intensities.
Abnormal intensity foci in the brain stem.


OPINION:

  • Picture is suggestive of hereditary spastic paraplegia for clinical correlation.
