Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (MR).

PROTOCOL:

T1W – Sagittal & axial scans
T2W – Axial & coronal scans
FLAIR – Axial scans

FINDINGS:

-This study revealed mild atrophy of the corpus callosum with also mild atrophy of the brain.
-No definite white matter changes could be elicited except from mild changes around occipital horn bilaterally on Flair images.
-No definite significant white matter changes or atrophy could be seen in cervical cord.
-Reversed curvature of cervical spines resulting in angulation and cord indentation at the level of C5-6 and C6-7.

-The rest of the brain Parenchyma shows normal grey white matter differentiation and signal intensities.  No focal mass lesion is seen.
-Brain stem and cerebellum show normal signal intensities.

OPINION:

The only sign could gives impression of hereditary spastic paraplegia is atrophic changes noted in the corpus callosum and brain; yet picture is not obvious due to absence of cervical cord atrophy and lack of significant white matter abnormality for clinical correlation.
