Brain abscess (MR).




PROTOCOL:

T1W – Sagittal & axial scans
T2W – Axial & coronal scans
FLAIR – Axial scans 

FINDINGS:

-Revealed:
Right craniotomy.
A focal cystic containing air bubbles lesion in the right parieto-occipital region with 50 mm height; 49 mm AP and 38 mm transverse diameters with peri focal edema and regular thin ring enhancement.
Another smaller lesion with same characteristic near upper edge of first lesion.
Compression of the occipital horn of right lateral ventricle with mild mid line shift to the right side.
Abnormal enhancement of adjacent meninges.
Asymmetry of both limbs of quadrigeminal cistern with no significant evidence of conization at the time of this study. 


OPINION:

Picture is suggestive of two brain abscesses with meningeal infection.
For clinical correlation.
