Remember the shape of normal anterior cruciate ligament. |
Proton density sagital knee joint imaging at the level of lateral meniscus / revealed that the anterior horn becomes too small if compared to the posterior one. |
PROTOCOL:
T2W – Sagittal & Coronal Scans
T2FFE & PDW – Sagittal Scans
STIR – Coronal Scans
FINDINGS:
-Torn anterior horn lateral meniscus.
-Moderate joint effusion.
-Mild osteoarthritis.
-Bones of the knee joint show normal alignment, outlines and marrow signal intensities.
-Medial meniscus shows normal hypointense signal.
-Anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are normal in course, bulk and signal intensity.
-Medial and lateral collateral ligaments are well visualized and show normal signal intensity.
-Patellar and Quadriceps tendons are normal in appearance and signal intensities.
OPINION:
• Torn anterior horn lateral meniscus.
• Moderate joint effusion.
