Medial meniscal tear (MR):

Proton density sagital knee imaging at the level of medial meniscus / revealed a hyper intense linear signal intensity with the cavity of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus connected to the lower articular surface and also to the upper one by vertical line.

Normal appearance of anterior cruciate ligament (do not forget this appearance).

PROTOCOL:
T2W – Sagittal & Coronal Scans
       T2FFE & PDW – Sagittal Scans
       STIR – Coronal Scans

FINDINGS:

-Medial meniscal tear posterior horn.
-Mild to moderate joint effusion.
-Minimal bone marrow contusion in the medial upper surface of tibia.

-Bones of the knee joint show normal alignment, outlines and marrow signal intensities.
-Lateral meniscus shows normal hypointense signal.
-Anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are normal in course, bulk and signal intensity.
-Medial and lateral collateral ligaments are well visualized and show normal signal intensity.
-Patellar and Quadriceps tendons are normal in appearance and signal intensities.

OPINION:

Medial meniscal tear posterior horn.
Mild to moderate joint effusion.
Minimal bone marrow contusion as mentioned above.
