Communicating Hydrocephalus.




Plain MDCT scans were obtained for the entire brain.



  • There is moderate to marked dilatation of the ventricular system more prominent on both lateral ventricles.
  • Right occipital V-P shunt tube with its tip at tip at the right lateral ventricle.
  • Reduced cerebral mantle with no evidence of any focal or diffuse lesion could be detected.
  • Cortical sulci are effaced.
  • No evidence of any intracranial hematoma is seen. 
  • No evidence of midline shift is seen.
  • The posterior fossa is unremarkable.


IMPRESSION : 


  • Moderate to marked communicating hydrocephalus with non functioning VP shunt for clinical correlation.
