Absent septum pellucidum (MR).






PROTOCOL:       T2 W - Axial scans
T1 W - Axial & Sagittal scans
FLAIR - coronal scans
     
FINDINGS:
-Revealed:
·Absent septum pellucidum with mild ventricular dilatation including lateral and third ventricles.

-Brain parenchyma pattern is normal for patient age with myelination still in progression.
-No obvious focal lesion is seen.
-Third and lateral ventricles are normal in size and position.
-Septum is in midline.
-Brain stem and cerebellum are normal in appearance and signal intensities.
-Fourth ventricle is normal in position and size.
                                                                                                                                                                                        

IMPRESSION:

·Evidence of absent septum pellucidum with mild lateral and third ventricle dilatation.
·For ophthalmic consultation to exclude optic nerve atrophy to exclude septo-optic syndrome.
