Foramen magnum meningioma (MR).

PROTOCOL:

T2W – Sagittal & axial scans
T1W – Axial scans
FLAIR – Coronal scans
T2FFE (Gradient) – Axial scans
3D TOF MR angiography of the circle of Willis vessels and MIP reconstruction.

FINDINGS:

-Revealed:
·        A right cerebello-pontine angle soft tissue mass extending to the right side of foramen magnum resulting in compression of the medulla and the upper cervical cord.
·        Measurements of about 25 mm (AP) X 19 mm (transverse) x 27 mm (height).
·        Homogenous enhancement after contrast injection.
·        Dural tail and dural base of the mass.

-Brain Parenchyma shows normal grey white matter differentiation and signal intensities.  No focal mass lesion is seen.
-Lateral and third ventricles are normal in size and position. Septum is in midline.  There is no midline shift.
-Basal cisterns, cortical sulci and gyri are normal in appearance.
-Corpus callosum shows normal MR morphology.
-Fourth ventricle is normal in size and is midline in position.

OPINION:

·        Picture is suggestive of a meningioma of right cerebello-pontine angle extending to the right side of foramen magnum resulting in compression of the medulla and upper cervical cord to the left side.
