Meningitis and increased intra cranial hypertension (MR).

PROTOCOL:

T1W – Sagittal & axial scans
T2W – Axial & coronal scans
FLAIR – Axial scans

FINDINGS:

-Revealed:
Dura arachnoid enhancement along the inner table of cranial convexity in both parietal regions (seen better in T1 coronal enhanced images where in the right side is shown in image # 11 and on the left side in image # 9).
Also thickened enhanced dura in the area of falx cerebri (coronal enhanced image # 12).
No abnormal enhancement in tentorium.
A suspicious area of abnormal pia subarachnoid enhancement in the left frontal region (T1 axial enhanced image # 19).
Dilatation of the peri-optic CSF spaces with right sided diameter equal to 7.3 and left sided diameter 7.2 mm.
Mild bilateral flattening of both posterior scleras.
Tortuous course of both optic nerves.
Normal morphology of MR angiography and venography.

OPINION:

Picture is suggestive of meningitis with MR signs of increased intra cranial tension for ophthalmic consultation if clinically indicated.
