PROTOCOL:
T1W – Sagittal & axial scans
T2W – Axial & coronal scans
FLAIR – Axial scans
FINDINGS:
-Revealed:
• Abnormal multiple variables sized altered signals in the right medial temporal lobe; right basal ganglia and right cerebellar hemisphere with T2 shine through on diffusion and pseudo normalization on ADC maps images.
• Smooth halo of bilateral peri ventricular increased signal intensity.
• Another tiny area of faint hyper intensity in the right side of the pons (seen only on Diffusion images).
• Brain atrophy with widened sulci and ventricular system and exaggerated basal cisterns.
• Cerebellar atrophy.
• Mild corpus callosal atrophy.
• Non visualization of the right vertebral artery.
• Non visualization of terminal branches of both middle cerebral arteries
-Brain Parenchyma shows normal grey white matter differentiation and signal intensities. No focal mass lesion is seen.
-Fourth ventricle is normal in size and is midline in position.
OPINION:
• Picture is suggestive of embolic infarction for clinical correlation.
• Atherosclerosis of cerebral arteries.
