Otitis Media (CT).


Clinical impression: operated right temporal bone 

Plain high resolution MDCT scans were performed for the temporal bones. Multiplanar reconstructions were obtained.



  • Evidence of right temporal bone surgery is seen.
  • Opacification of the right middle ear cavity as well as the sclerosed right mastoid air cells are seen. Normal right ossicular chain is seen. 
  • The left tympanic cavity, ossicular chains and tympanic membranes are normal on left side
  • The attic and mastoid antrum are normal on either side.
  • The facial nerve canals, semicircular canals, cochlea and IAMs are normal.
  • The sinus plate and tegmen tympani are intact.
  • Left mastoid air cells are well pneumatized.
  • The external ear structures are normal.


IMPRESSION:

Findings are suggestive of operated right temporal bone with evidence of right CSOM and right chronic mastoiditis.
