Omental Infarction (CT).



Clinical impression: Left renal stone, fat stranding around hepatic flexure in CT KUB. 

MDCT of the abdomen and pelvis was performed before and after intravenous contrast administration. The bowel was labeled with oral contrast.


  • Diffuse mild fat stranding around hepatic flexure and extend mildly to mesentery of central abdomen, there are multiple small LNs, largest at para aortic region measures about 2cm, it is enhancing with central hypodense non enhancing area.
  • The liver is normal is size. It shows normal texture. No evidence of any focal or diffuse lesion is seen in the liver.
  • The gall bladder and biliary tree are normal.
  • Portal vein is normal.
  • The spleen, pancreas and adrenals are normal.
  • The kidneys are normal in size. No evidence of any focal mass lesions. No evidence of dilatation of collecting systems. A tiny calculus 2mm at left kidney.
  • The urinary bladder is well distended and shows no obvious mass lesion in it. 
  • The bowel loops are normal in caliber, location and show normal wall thickness.
  • No evidence of ascitis is seen.


IMPRESSION: 


  • Picture suggestive of omental infarction with sequale as described, need further clinical correlation and follow up.



  • A tiny left renal stone 2mm.
