FLAIR – Coronal scans
DW & T2FFE (Gradient) – Axial scans
3D TOF MR angiography of the circle of Willis vessels and MIP reconstruction.
FINDINGS:
-Revealed:
• Widened cortical sulci and dilated ventricular system.
• Prominent fourth ventricle.
• Exaggerated basal cistern.
• Atrophied corpus callosum.
• Exaggerated cerebellar folia.
• Mild peri ventricular white matter ischemic changes.
• Multiple dilated Virchow’s spaces.
• Brain stem atrophy with mid brain AP diameter equal to 12.1 mm (should be less than 9.35 mm in PSP) while the mid brain / pons ratio is 60 % (should be less than 52 % in PSP).
• Non visualization of the right vertebral artery 9segment of about 22.8 mm in length).
• Atherosclerotic changes.
• Left temporal area of fluid collection is noted for clinical correlation (arachnoid cyst).
• Loss of volume of the lens of the right eye globe.
OPINION:
• Brain atrophy.
• Mid brain non PSP atrophy.
• Cerebral vessel atherosclerosis.
• Non visualization of right vertebral artery.
• Loss of volume of lens of right eye globe.
