Bertolotti’s Syndrome with type II A Castellvi classification (MR& CT).,



Clinical impression: Old trauma. 

Plain MDCT scan was performed for the lumbo-sacral spine.
Multiplanar reconstructions were obtained.

Pseudo articulation of the left side of L5 and the left sacral ala with sclerosed irregular  margins denoting chronic process ( Castellvi classification system Type II A which may be the cause of the LBP).
No evidence of any bony lesion is observed in the visualized vertebral bodies, neural arches and bony appendages.
No evidence of any fracture or collapse of the lumbar vertebrae is seen.
Spinal canal is normal.
No evidence of spondylolysis or listhesis is seen.
The visualized disc spaces are normal.
The visualized facetal joints are normal.

IMPRESSION:

Pseudo articulation of L5 with the sacrum as described.
Otherwise, No significant abnormality is observed.
