Guillain Barre syndrome

Evidence of abnormal enhancement of the nerve roots (axial section T1 image with contrast).

Clinical Data: Clinical Data:
  • Pain; weakness and parenthesis
  • Facial palsy.
  • Sterile lumbar puncture with high protein level.
Brain and Lumbo-sacral spines MR Imaging revealed:
  • Evidence of surface thickening and contrast enhancement on the conus medularis and the nerve roots of the cauda equina (SE: 18& IM: 9-11).
  • It enhancement is accentuated more on the anterior nerve roots if compared with the posterior ones.
  • Comparing this recent study to the previous one done in 15/06/2017; the intensity of enhancement and thickness is mildly reduced in the former if compared to the latter.
  • Normal MR Morphology of the brain; cervical and dorsal spines.
Impression:
  • Presence of clinical data mentioned above (which are not available in the request of the first examination done on 15/06/2017) in addition to the MRI findings given in this report; give impression of Guillain Barre syndrome for clinical correlation.
